MEET | AARON SANCHEZ
Featured 11.21-11.27 | The tats, the good looks and the late night antics might have you believe he's your typical bad boy chef, but Chef Aaron Sanchez plays against type. Instead, he writes poetry, is a Nichiren Buddhist and claims he would have been a Mariachi singer had cooking not worked out for him. So, yeah, that stereotype just went right out the window, didn't it? And here's the good news: cooking did work out for him. In a really big way. A descendent of Mexican cooking royalty (his mother is Zarela Martinez, one of the most celebrated Mexican chefs of all time), it's in his blood, but his gift for creating dishes that are delicate yet full of deep flavors and subtle spices is more than just inherited – it’s transcendent. He also happens to be one of the funniest, smartest and most generous people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and his passion for life is infectious. Welcome to Aaron's week.
