THE CALIFORNIA DIET
I don’t believe in diets. When your work consists of eating out up to five times a day, it would be ridiculous to stop one day and start fasting. The Californian Diet (here, pictured at Gjusta), which I consider to be a lot of avocados, a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and very "flexitarian": not a lot of meat, not a lot of gluten, is great enough for me
RUNNING IN VENICE
I used to run every morning when I lived in Paris, but it’s hard to do so in West Hollywood. Sometimes I’ll go near the ocean and run between Venice and Santa Monica, watching the sun go down.
LIVING WITHOUT GLUTEN
When I learned that I had a condition and could no longer eat soy, wheat or refined sugar, I burst into tears. And then I discovered Deliciously Ella and learned to bake and eat as many cookies, cakes and bread as I wanted to. This book is full of ideas and helped me navigate through this new life — a very Californian life actually!
I hear people go on these yoga retreats in beautiful Greek islands with no cell reception — I wish I had the courage to do that one day! For now, though, this is my favorite book about yoga.
Eating less meat is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and the environment. There are plenty of other options out there!
My favorite cosmetics brand is Santa Maria Novella which was created in Tuscany but is now available in the US. I also love all of Dr Hauschka's products. And I wear male perfumes and colognes. My favorites are Déclaration de Cartier, Voyage d’Hermes and Cologne du Parfumeur de Guerlain.
