I know Away is THE suitcase right now, but I’ve always been a big fan of Mandarina Duck in Italy. They’re cheap, beautiful and durable and not everyone has them, which I love. I have their Logoduck in black in all sizes.
I love to travel. It’s hard to choose favorites. For a grounded but spoiled vacation in the mountains, I would go to a Hacienda in Ecuador called Zuleta. You can ride horses, eat delicious food from the garden, see condors and go for amazing hikes. My favorite beach in the world is Los Roques in Venezuela, where I’m from, but since it’s not exactly the most ideal travel time because of its political and economic unrest, I would go to Las Terrenas, in the Dominican Republic, any day. No frills, not much luxury, but authentic people, food and beautiful beaches. Stay at the Peninsula House on the hill with beautiful views of the bay and their own beach club. For a luxury beach trip, it’s hard to beat the Four Seasons Explorer in the Maldives.
And this is what I would take in my dream suitcase:
And if food is what I’m after, Rome steals my heart and belly.
