FASHION | INSIDE MRS. MANDOLIN'S CLOSET

My favorite online retailer is Matches Fashion. They always push the envelope a bit, and are constantly introducing new and up and coming designers into the mix. My fashion sensibility has changed since I moved to Miami. I grew up and lived in a city for so many years where outerwear and dark colors were a staple. So for the last 8 years, I've channeled my bohemian side and adopted a more relaxed way of dressing. When you live in a warm climate year-round, you desire clothes that are more effortless and invest in resort wear for year-round.

My closet currently consists of dresses, jumpers and tops by:

Carolina K, a good friend and talented Argentinian designer who produces her pieces in Mexico and Peru, where she used to live.

I live in Ulla Johnson dresses at Mandolin they’re so feminine yet cool and effortless. I also love Rachel Comey and Apiece Apart jumpers and tops.

Every season I buy Lisa Marie Fernandez Swimwear and dresses by Loup Charmant.

We are currently working on our newest venture, Mrs. Mandolin, a café, market and retail shop. One of our favorite new swimwear lines the we'll be carrying is A la Mar. It's from Colombia and has a 1970’s ballerina feel and makes the perfect one piece.

I am currently in a rotation between my vintage 501 Levis and a couple of Madewell pairs, who I think make the best jeans. They are a great price point and they do a high rise fit that looks good on everyone!

A statement earring and rope belt by Lizzie Fortunato are summer-time musts. Tie around your caftan or jeans.

Gold and silver Hula Hoops by Jenny Bird. And anything by Paula Mendoza Jewelry.

I have collected vintage woven basket bags for years, so those are always on rotation. I pick them up at markets when I travel.

I recently just bought a Moreau bag by Staud that I'm obsessing over. It's so well priced, and it will travel everywhere with me this summer.

For an evening look I wear my Ximena Kavalekas Mandolin Python Box Bag (yes! It is named for the designer'sfavorite restaurant), designed in Miami but made in Italy. My favorite is the natural python or cobalt blue,

I can’t live without my Lito Evil Eye necklace and my Dezso by SB bracelets by my dear friend Sara Beltran. They are inspired by the seaside and are beyond beautiful pieces of art. They are wearable investment pieces. It’s cool girl fine jewelry. (no-fuss fine jewelry – not just for a specific occasion). These items never leave my body I wear them daily.
