SPACE | MAKING A HOUSE A HOME

We turned the extra bedroom in our apartment into a den for reading and watching Netflix. We removed the closet doors and inserted old wooden shelving and created a floor to ceiling book library. I cherish moments at the end of a long day, sitting in that room with my husband and recapping or reading. It's a small room, but it's perfectly cozy and it's what I think of when I think of "being home."

In fact our entire house is a home because it's now home to our new son, and we get to reinvent and reimagine every nook. I also love being surrounded by the art we have fallen in love with and collected over the years. Each piece speaks personally to us and was purchased at a momentous time in our lives. When it truly feels most like home is when we have guests that stay overnight instead of staying in a hotel — or if we have friends popping over for a night of Seamless and catch-up. That's the best feeling in the world.
