Nihiwatu (Kuta Poleng Complex Block C/2, Kuta 80361 Bali, Indonesia; +62 361 757 149) on the Island of Sumba in Indonesia. Not only has it been picked as the #1 hotel by Travel and Leisure for the past two years, but it was also partially designed by Marco. Marco spent two years redecorating the rooms and public areas.
Adrere Amellal Hotel (El Seboukha Street, Siwa, 51714, Egypt; +20 46 4602399) in Siwa, Egypt. Probably the most unique and magical destination in the world. Located in a desert oasis, this hotel is authentic, ecological, and unpretentious, proving that luxury can be simple.
Machangulo in Mozambique. This is not a hotel per se, but the house can be rented from our good friend Alejandro Tawil. The home is built on the largest dune in the world, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Located on the side of an elephant reserve and a short boat ride from the capital, Maputo, this is one of the most special destinations in the world.
