Cooking is one of my passions. As a self-proclaimed three-star chef, you can usually find me in the kitchen working on my game or watching the Food Network looking for my next inspirational dish (Hi Giada!).The things I like to cook and the places I like to go are pretty random. My best home cooked dishes range from spaghetti and meatballs to the most insane guacamole you’ve ever had (trust me) and, as you will see from the list of some of my favorite LA spots below, my search for great food takes me all over town.
7969 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood
This is pretty much my version of an upscale Cheers. It’s a great spot to grab dinner or drinks with friends and you are guaranteed to run into someone you know (and even a few celebs). Plus Adam Koral and Brett Gursky always make me feel at home.
Nate n' Al Delicatessen
414 North Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills
When I'm craving anything from my east coast Jewish upbringing, this is where I come. Order the Westwood or the New York sandwiches and you won’t be disappointed.
5722 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles
Voted one of LA’s Top 10 Restaurants, this place is everything I love about California cuisine. Kali has farm fresh ingredients, innovative food and some of the best looking dishes you’ve seen in awhile. You won’t forget your meal here!
Ye Rustic Inn
1831 Hillhurst Ave, Los Angeles
This place claims to have the best wings in LA, and I 100% agree. Don’t let the dive bar vibe and dark atmosphere fool you, they know how to cook chicken. Once inside, you’ll forget whether it's 2PM or 2AM, but when you take a bite of their crispy chicken wings, you won’t really care.
Hands down the best. Anywhere.
10227 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles
I found this little spot many years ago on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Hidden in a strip mall (a very LA thing) on Venice Blvd, Gloria does a great job creating classic Mexican & Salvadoran food. Nothing groundbreaking here just quality food and quality hugs from Gloria herself (if you're lucky).
