TRAVEL | THAT ARCHITECTURE, THOUGH

My favorite local destination is San Ysido Ranch in Santa Barbara. I love the natural landscape and the organic vegetables they grow.  The intoxicating lavender and rosemary bushes will make you want to pick them and place them in a vase next to your bed.

Internationally, I love Paris. We travel there often to see my stepdaughter and always fly Air France — they are a dream and accommodating for even a trepidatious flyer. French women are so naturally beautiful and elegant and I love to watch them from cafes. Strolling, people watching, enjoying the architecture and Haussmann-style buildings, and visiting galleries and museums are always highlights when I visit Paris. Recently, I went to the Louis Vuitton Foundation, which has amazing architecture and art. Some of my favorite restaurants are Les Bains, Le Clown and Josephine Wine Bar.

It is such a far trip for us from Los Angeles, so sometimes we go from Paris to London before heading home and that city also has amazing energy. There I love to stay at the Chiltern Firehouse.

As far as packing, I like a uniform that works from day into evening and that work for any number of unexpected invitations. Here's what I always have in my suitcase: the perfect, chic black knee-length dress; anything chic and sexy I can zip up from the back by Victoria Beckham; a pair of wide-legged cream colored pants with a high waist; and a great leather jacket (literally I can’t live without my Belstaff) to toss over anything. I also always pack jeans, lots of tees, a turtleneck, elegant silk tops from Chloe for night and Equipment for day (I have every single color!), Hermes scarves, the perfect Manolo Blahnik black heels, comfortable boots and my Lanvin ballerina flats. My favorite black leather jeans (by Current Elliot) are the base for most of my looks — I can change from day to evening with a different top and shoe and then I finish with a fantastic bag or earrings.
