Travel has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and was absolutely the driving force for starting Corroon. I love the sensory experience of being out of your element for the first time.  I always tell my children to cherish their initial observations when they go somewhere new — you never get a second shot at a first impression.

I grew up with a steady diet of stories and photos of my great aunts and great grandmother traveling to all these crazy places before it was really done. In many ways I believe that I am living in the wrong time for travel, (though the right time for women), as I long to be back in an age where you had elegant trunks and went by train in an amazing outfit.

I honed what I felt was necessary and what was superfluous in travel bags after years of raising my kids abroad and schlepping three young kids back and forth between Europe, Africa, Asia and the US.

My favorite destinations or travel experiences have become the bag names at Corroon.

I bring an oversized scarf, like this one from Rag & Bone. I get cold easily, so it is an essential.  I always travel in a Veronica Beard blazer, they have a ton of choices for dickeys that keep you warm on the plane and can be zipped out you arrive. I just bought this schoolboy jacket in beige linen with a grey sweatshirt lining for spring.

I use our Sungkay travel kits which hold chargers for my laptop and phone, as well as reading (Rayban) and sunglasses from Oliver Peoples or J.Crew. The bags are padded and lightweight so they are easy to throw in.

Our Shek O bag, which is named for a bohemian beach outside of Hong Kong, gets loaded with Malin +Goetz hand cream, Beautycounter peppermint lip balm, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, and I never travel without a toothbrush!

My St. Christopher medals- I am very superstitious about flying with them and I carry one for every member of my family, including my dog.

No matter what I am a carry on girl.  I am always eager to get on with the adventure when I land, so I rarely check.  I love our weekender because it is super lightweight, fits a ton and has a secret pocket on the outside to easily get at your phone and passport.
