I’m on the board of the writer’s foundation called Speakeasy and it brings incredible writers together and raises money to buy books for children in poor areas who don’t get the chance to go to the library. House of Speakeasy's offshoot, Seriously Entertaining, is New York's premiere literary Cabaret — an organization dedicated to connecting writers and audiences in innovative and sustaining ways, both in classrooms and at Joe's Pub. MEET | LUCY SYKES
Featured 7.10-7.16.17 | If you know who Lucy Sykes is, then you know that when she (and her twin sister, Plum) came to New York from London in 1995, she took the Big Apple by storm. And not just because she was the original "It Girl." Sure, she played big on the social scene, but she also worked big — as Fashion Director of Marie Claire, as owner of her eponymous children's clothing line, Lucy Sykes Baby, as Fashion Consultant to more than a handful of well-known brands (Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Rent the Runway) and, most recently as author (her latest novel, Fitness Junkie comes out on July 11). And if you don't know who she is yet, well you can thank me now because you're in for a real treat. Welcome to Lucy's week.
