I'd like to support Alzheimer’s Universe, a non-profit education resource and research hub for Weill Cornell/NewYork Presbyterian's Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic. I have created content for them and collaborated on research and strongly believe in their mission to reach people of all ages to help spread the message of prevention.
My mother developed a strange form of dementia at a young age. I was grasping at straws trying to find research that might be of use to help, but most of the money goes into Alzheimer's disease because it is the most common form of dementia. Nonetheless, dementia often begins in the brain decades before the first symptom, and we could all benefit from taking steps towards a healthier brain, just like we do for our hearts and bodies. My goal was to understand the research on dementia prevention so that I could then help others help themselves where their brain health was concerned.
