SOCIAL | WE'RE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

Youth truly is wasted on the young. What wouldn’t we give to go back to school? To take classes we’re actually interested in (Art History & Sex Ed yes, Calculus, no) and be inspired. Well, you can. And you should. The happiest, healthiest, most confident people in the world are those who get involved, continue to learn and stay fully engaged in life. Old dogs really can learn new tricks, so keep your mind sharp by choosing a class, hobby, or event to get involved in this Fall. We’ve gathered 7 totally doable options — most are online and available on YOUR schedule — so there’s no excuses, people! Now get your ass back to class.

BOND WITH WOMEN

Together Live
Get tickets to Together Live, a special evening that brings a diverse group of powerhouse women on stage to talk truth, purpose, action and community. Thought leaders, musicians, celebrities and comedians (like Cheryl Strayed, Sophia Bush and Abby Wambach) share their raw, personal stories with the intent to inspire women to build community and take action in their lives. The 2019 10-city tour begins in Seattle on October 12th but if you can’t make it to one of the actual evenings you can still get connected and inspired by the blog and podcast at togetherlive.com.

They help you master everything from core skills to innovative kitchen techniques, the how and why recipes work and how to cook with or without recipes. You can try out the online cooking school for one month, but we bet you’ll end up springing for the annual membership to access your inner Julia Child.

FINALLY LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

Duolingo
There are tons of online language-learning apps, but we think the best — and most fun — is Duolingo. The app uses quick, upbeat online games to make learning a new tongue enjoyable as well as addictive. Each time you complete a lesson you earn points for correct answers, race against the clock and move up a level in the game. Their science-based technique really works (34 hours of Duolingo is equal to one university semester of language courses) AND it’s free. C’est incroyable!
