Along with the beach days and barbecues come brown spots, wrinkles, blotchy skin and sunburn. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Wear. You. Sunscreen. All Day. Every day. It goes without saying that you’ll need it in the summer, but the absolute best way to protect your skin is to wear it every damn day. We’ve found that one of the easiest ways to ensure you’re protected is to wear a tinted moisturizer or BB cream that doubles as coverage along with serious sun protection. And since there are so many effective natural options available, we’re going the clean route because we give chemicals a big thumbs down. So grab a towel and your favorite steamy summer read and hit the beach, because we’re going to teach you how to practice safe sun.

Suntegrity “5 in 1” Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen
I love, love, love this all-in-one sunscreen that doubles as a tinted moisturizer and is all you need to head out the door and be protected. I use this in lieu of foundation or tinted sunscreen during the summer. Not only does it cover imperfection,s but this multitasker does triple duty by treating your skin with antioxidants, moisturizing, protecting and priming. It’s one stop shopping for your summer face!

Colorscience Sunforgettable Mineral Sunscreen Brush SPF 50
This convenient powder brush is always in my purse and is super easy to apply without mess any time of day.  It’s also my go-to for early evening parties where there is still sun but I don’t want the shiny face that you can get from liquid sunscreen.

MS SolarSciences Mineral Tinted Crème SPF 30
This tinted cream is light, creamy and dries to a nice, matte finish. The light tint works with most skin tones and adds just a hint of color that is almost non-existent. It has the velvety texture of a silicone primer and works well under makeup.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Liquid Tint SPF 50
This was a Whole Foods fine and it’s a good, light coverage sunscreen that is light, non-greasy and sheer.  The 100% mineral sunscreen gives just enough coverage to cover imperfections and give a light summer glow.

EltaMD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
This one is beloved by dermatologists and the acne prone for good reason. It’s effective, oil-free and absolutely does not clog pores. If sunscreens make you break out, then this one should be your summer pick. If you’re not into a tint, Elta offers tons of clear options that are just as effective.

Bare Republic Mineral Sport Lotion SPF 50
A solid choice for a beach day and/or outdoor exercise. I’m obsessed with the light, silky texture that goes on as a lotion but dries to a sheer, powdery finish. Plus, it’s got a hint of a coconut scent that screams summer and reminds me of the old Bain de Soleil days.

Supergoop Shine-On Lip Screen Broad Spectrum SPF 50
Let’s not forget our lips, people! This Supergoop gloss makes it easy to protect them, and I always keep a tube in my bag to apply throughout the day. This is essentially a top coat that you can wear alone or on top of lipstick to add shine and protection.
