When I was a kid, there was a long-standing joke about skincare in my family. My mom had spent $50 on a moisturizer, and we were all horrified, bringing it up at every turn. I couldn't imagine why something that simply kept your face moisturized could possibly cost so much money. Fast forward 40 years, and here we are: me, spending WAY more than $50, way more often and not getting any kind of particularly good result. So you can imagine my delight when the peeps at La Prairie reached out and sent me a care package to play with. In case you don't know it, La Prairie is a Swiss skincare company known for its super luxe creams that actually do what their packaging claims.
The sent me the motherlode: the Cellular 3-Minute Peel, the White Caviar Illuminating Serum (I always complain about brown spots, so this was the solution), the Skin Caviar Sheer Luxe Cream (the word Caviar makes it sound so luxurious) and the Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream. And here's what I can say thus far: HOLY CRAP. Seriously. I actually think it's worth it, and while I would NEVER suggest anyone spend crazy money on skincare, it's what I'm doing right now. My skin feels softer, more even and, dare I say it, maybe a little younger.
Maybe my mom was onto something ...
