As a New Yorker through and through, it’s hard for me to love any other city the same way, but Venice, CA feels like my second home now. I have a beautiful pilates studio here, and through that space I’m building a community of incredible, dynamic people (so many ex-New Yorkers I can’t help it!). LA is incredible, but Venice especially has its own kind of warmth and beauty. Here are some of the places I love that make it feel like home to me.

The best pasta in town, if you can get a table. Great cocktails and it feels like a NYC restaurant so it feels like home to me.

Mecca for natural nontoxic beauty products. They carry my favorite lines like Agent Nateur and Dr Alkaitis plus they have their own natural perfumery.

Once a place where the super-talented Ibby made my favorite kimonos, now she’s expanded into gorgeous, wear everywhere little silk slip dresses — she’ll even work with you to custom make something beautiful just for you.

My favorite ramen and sake spot has a DJ who actually compliments the food. They serve the best veggie ramen and earthy sake, the decor is just right and makes you feel like you’re in Japan without being theme-y about it and the music is vinyl. It’s perfect.

I’ve been buying here since I lived full time in NYC. They have everything from dressier Isabel Marant to lounge-around Venice worthy casual Cotton Citizen and an expertly curated vintage T-shirt collection.
The Venice Canals
I walk the canals with my dog Wolfie to clear my head.
You walk in and you can’t believe this place exists. It’s amped up health-food store heaven. Fresh pressed juices in every color of the rainbow, all the healthy groceries and skin care, vitamins, and a hot bar and sushi. Plus they’ll make you shots to cure everything from a little cold to a raging hangover. It’s an addiction.
