TSS | 7 PLACES TO VISIT IN THE PHILIPPINES

It's that time of year. Temps are finally dropping and travel starts to be on everyone's minds. And I don't know about you, but I'm a fan of the road a little less traveled: destinations that might not be top of mind, but probably should be. So we turned to Layne Fable, blogger, vlogger and travel addict, and asked her where she would go right this second if she could get on a plane and go anywhere in the world. Her choice? The Philippines. Why? For the incredible landscapes and even more incredible people. I'm pretty close to booking my trip. You?

what layna packs

1. CORON
Coron is my favorite place on Earth, thus far. The kind and friendly people, the crystal blue water, the striking jagged cliffs and amazing snorkeling — I don't think anything can compare. I had a permanent smile on my face my entire time in Coron! I also wore this bikini! No words or photos can do this island's beauty justice. But I did my best to capture it in my travel vlogs: check them out here! If you visit only one place in the Philippines, I suggest Coron!

2. CRYSTAL COVE ISLAND
This incredible island off of Boracay was one of the stops during our island hopping excursion. Exploring the crystal coves and taking in the all of the scenery while walking across the small, but unforgettable island is a MUST. I may or may not have been the last back to the boat because I couldn't bring myself to leave the coves once I found them.

3. PUERTO PRINCESA UNDERGROUND RIVER
As one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, it does not disappoint. It is an unbelievable sight and lesson in nature. My favorite part was the first beach that your boat pulls up to before entering the natural park. Why? Because you can take photos in your bathing suit with the gorgeous scenery -- apparently you are not allowed to wear just a bathing suit inside of the natural park as I learned the hard way -- I almost got kicked out! (Whole ordeal caught on the vlog). Make sure to bring a cute cover-up

4. BORACAY ISLAND
Boracay Island is the heart of nightlife in the Philippines and is best described as the Times Square of the Philippines — there's no shortage of things to do, eat, or see. Your night will begin with one of the most saturated and stunning sunsets you'll ever have the pleasure of seeing, and may not end until the sun comes up in the morning! You should head to my favorite spot, the rooftop bar of Astoria Current resort for the best view possible of the breathtaking sunset. Next stop? Spider House to start partying and make sure to wear something cute. Like this slip dress.

5. HONDA BAY
The perfect vantage point to take in 360 degrees of mountain, sea and sky. Known for the colorful flags that line this bay, make sure you pack a cute bathing suit and bring your own floaty to get the perfect shot. I borrowed this swan float from people I met while exploring the bay! Finally, I have one word for you: Sunscreen. While island hopping to the gorgeous Honda Bay, I forgot to reapply along the way and became a human lobster. Learn from my mistakes...

6. OLANGOAN FALLS OF BINDUYAN PUERTO PRINCESA
Trek up to the top of this gorgeous waterfall and get your adrenaline fix by cliff jumping from the top. This trek was one of my favorites because it's a moderate hike with a stunning set of waterfalls at the end. Once you complete the hike up, you'll be greeted with a peaceful spot for lunch — or if you're anything like me, you'll be excited about  the cliff jump. I must've climbed up and jumped off five times. You will also be treated to a natural fish pedicure in the swimming area — The tiny fish swim right up to your feet if you sit still while butterflies flutter around your head.

7. MANILA
Last but not least, you must visit Manila to get a real feel for Filipino culture, and to see just how much they love shopping malls. Manila is home to the largest, and some of the nicest malls I have ever seen in my life. If you're a shopaholic and foodie like me, you will absolutely love these malls. But the real love i have for Manila is the people: you'll have the pleasure of meeting some of the kindest, happiest and sweetest people on this planet and it will really change your life forever.
