TSS | 7 SUMMER BEAUTY HACKS FROM A TRUE BEACH BABE

Meet Jayma Cardoso, owner of The Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY (which just so happens to be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this summer) and ultimate beach babe. As the proprietor she created one of the most popular spots on the East End, curating the restaurant, bar, shop and hotel perfectly, so we thought her selects for summer beauty would be spot on as well. Guess What? We were right.

Sakara Life's Beauty Water
First thing in the morning, I get out of bed and I take out a Beauty Water from the fridge. It’s rose water infused with phytoceramides that boost collagen production in the skin. Especially when my skin feels dehydrated, I can’t start my morning off without it. We all know beauty starts from within.

Sunday Forever x Surf Lodge Candle
Surf Lodge recently did a collaboration with Sunday Forever to release a new candle called Stay. I know I’m biased, but it’s exactly what I’ve always wanted a candle to smell like, waves and salt water. I really don’t think it gets any better.

Tata Harper’s Regenerating Cleanser
I start my skin care routine off with Tata Harper’s Regenerating Cleanser. It feels like a really gentle scrub and exfoliator which, during the summer months I definitely need to get that sweat, sunscreen and makeup off after a long day. I always try and keep my skin care as natural and non-toxic as possible. Not only does it make sense with all the studies that are coming out about toxic skin care, but my skin just reacts better to the ingredients.

Caudalie’s Radiance Serum
I use Caudalie Radiance Serum for dark spots. Growing up in brazil, I was constantly in the sun so I need to reverse some of the sun damage I already have. This serum is light and practically invisible on my skin. I’ve used it for a few months now and can really see the difference in my skin. Not only is it more even, but it also adds a little bit of a glow beneath my moisturizer.

Soleil Sunscreen
In order to not damage my skin even more, my tried and true, 100% non-negotiable is sunscreen. Not only does this sunscreen protect me from the sun, but it’s nice and light so it can also double as a moisturizer. I try and keep my skin care very minimal so it’s an achievable routine.

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder
I love Bobbi Brown, because her makeup always looks very natural. Before running out of the house, I always apply her highlighting powder on the high points of my face, where the sun hits. It’s a little shimmery, but not too much, so it acts like a bronzer. Cannot recommend this one enough.

Bobbi Brown Glow Stick
I then apply the glow stick around my cheekbones and I extend it to a C shape over my eyebrows. This one just adds a little extra color, so my cheeks look rosy. When I was younger, this was my natural look since I was constantly in the sun and my cheeks would get a little flush of color (hence the sun damage). Now, since I know how harmful the sun is, I would never forget to wear sunscreen, so I create that look myself.

Sakara Empower Bars Collection
Since I’m always on the run, I like to carry around a bar with me in case I get hungry later in the day. Sakara Life’s bars are definitely my favorite, not only because they’re delicious, but they’re packed with nutrients and fill me up when I need a snack.
