Let me say this, and you can judge me all you want: I LOVE products. Love them. Can't have enough of them. And actually DON'T have enough of them. Walking into Sephora or Ulta or any department store with a cosmetics floor is a religious experience and can alter my mood radically on even the darkest days. The possibilities feel endless and I'm just happy. What makes me even happier is when I get the chance to meet an actual Makeup Artist who is willing to share her secrets, because that is like uncovering the secrets of the sphinx. Except maybe only slightly less important. So when I met Mai Quynh, the world famous MUA who has painted the faces of everyone from Emmy Rossum and Scarlett Johansson to Saoirse Ronan and Chloe Moretz, I dropped to my knees and I prayed. And my prayers came true because she was kind enough to share the 7 essentials she'll have in her makeup bag all summer. I've already stocked mine, now it's your turn.

1. La Prairie Essence-In-Foundation
I’m loving this new liquid compact foundation from La Prairie. Not only does it give me a beautiful lightweight finish with SPF25, it also contains skincare benefits, aka caviar water. Caviar water improves skin elasticity as well as hydrates and tones. This portable compact is great for touch-ups, so I can throw it in my bag.
2. Vapour Solar Bronzer in Simmer
This creamy bronzer stick gives skin a soft, shimmery glow, without being too orange-y. It blends in smoothly and looks very natural while giving a subtle sun-kissed look to the face.
3. Bkr Spiked Lala Glass Water Bottle
This is my go-to water bottle. It’s reusable/refillable and I don’t have to worry about BPA. I try to drink 3-4 (4 = a gallon) of these throughout the day. It helps me gauge how much water I drink. Plus, I love playing with the spiky texture.
4. Evian Facial Spray
I always carry these mini spray bottles everywhere I go. I love misting it after makeup, to help makeup settle and skin look more dewy. They’re so refreshing to spray on your face and body during summer.
5. Byredo Hair Perfume in Blanche
This is my favorite scent to spray in my hair because it makes it smell amazing without weighing it down. It has such a fresh, clean scent that’s subtle and reminds me of summer.
6. Sun Bum Original Sunscreen Lotion SPF 70
Growing up in LA, the sun has always been a big part of my day-to-day life and it’s very important for me to always have sun protection on. I love this sunscreen because of the high SPF, but also because of the way it feels on my skin. It’s not greasy or oily and it has an amazing tropical scent that reminds me of the beach.
7. Malin+Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub
After a long day, I love using this exfoliating scrub. It contains peppermint, which energizes my skin, while making it feel cool and refreshed. It also has glycerin, which helps hydrate the skin.
