Fashion can be intimidating. Fashion on a beautiful woman who stands almost six feet tall can be downright formidable. Unless, of course, that woman is Sarah Easley; then it's simply awe-inspiring. Easley has been around the fashion block a few times, having founded Kirna Zabete, the multi-brand luxury store that brought big names to a little neighborhood known as SoHo back in 1999.  Over the course of its 17 year run (!), she managed to find time to design her own line, share her knowledge of all things fashion with the world on television and in print, and has served as a mentor for the Council of Fashion Designers of America. But perhaps the most inspiring thing about Easley is the way in which she makes even the highest of fashion accessible to those of us who aren't quite sure how to do it, never taking it too seriously and always on hand to lend an honest and very girlfriend-y opinion. Which brings us to her current endeavor: Maison Marché, a hyper-curated fashion shop that travels from home to home featuring a rotating mix of amazing hard-to-find fashion and accessory brands. It's a brilliant idea, and one for which Sarah is perfectly suited. And because she's our fashion guru, we asked her to give us her favorite 7 to wear over and over this summer. All available at Maison Marché, natch.

I have been on the road (and in the sky and on a few ferries!) this summer. I want to feel like myself wherever I am. Of course the right outfit for my mood helps. I consider the weather and the occasion a bit, but mainly my mood. I also love to discover indie designers and support new fashion brands that are under the radar. My main strategy to achieve all this is to repeat. I would rather bring 7 favorite pieces along and wear them over and over. It's a fun challenge to see how many remixes you can create with the selected seven. Here's my current rotation.

about sarah

As co-founder/president of Kirna Zabete from 1999 to 2016, Sarah Easley created a new retail experience for fashion aspirants and experts of any mood. During her 17-year tenure, Kirna Zabete established itself as the luxury fashion store known for the best edits of current and future designers. Vogue named Kirna Zabete the “#1 Independent Retail Store in America.”

In addition to her success as a luxury retailer, Easley has designed and launched successful fashion lines in collaboration with Target, Nine West, and Gilt, among others. As a luminary fashion tastemaker and forecaster, Sarah is frequently quoted in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, In Style, W, WWD, New York Magazine, and countless other national and international publications.

After selling her Kirna Zabete interest in 2016, Easley launched Sarah Easley Fashion Consulting (SEFC), which focuses on elevating established and emerging designers, retailers and luxury brands. Sarah’s extensive “insider” retail background enables her to optimize designer collections for retail sales and media exposure. SEFC offers brand building for strategic growth as well as overall retail and design strategy.

In 2018 Easley founded MaisonMarché as a modern retail platform to bring talented fashion brands with limited distribution to an elite clientele seeking fashion innovation.
