Spring Cleaning. Just the idea of it makes me giddy. And even more exciting is the idea of a complete Spring overhaul. So we asked Bea Fischel-Bock, the CEO & Co-Founder of Hutch (the most genius virtual decorating platform) what she would do if given carte blanche to redecorate for the new season. Her ideas are simple yet impactful and we think you'll love them as much as we do.

1. Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking
A few fresh florals go a long way. Think about the most popular spring flowers — i.e. tulips or cherry blossoms — and add them around your home. Whether on top of your coffee table, in your kitchen or on your nightstand, your home will smell lovely and instantly look like it’s ready for spring.

2. Curtain Call
An easy and quick way to refresh your space is by simply swapping out your curtains. Heavy, ornate curtains can have a warm, luxurious feel for winter, but lighter versions are more appropriate when the weather warms up. You already have a curtain rod, so look for airy, sheer fabrics like chiffon. Not only will these open up a room, but they’ll let in more sunlight.

3. Flip Your Fabrics
Heavier fabrics such as wool, velvet and fur are reflective of the cold, winter months so spring is the perfect time to introduce linens and other lighter fabrics. Swap high-pile fluffy rugs for lighter flatweave ones. Your toes will feel much more at home on a striped kilim than on a faux-fur rug in the springtime.

4. Nature-Inspired
Nature comes back to life in the spring, and so should your home. Bring in lightweight natural materials — think wicker, woven baskets, light wood grain and cotton curtains.
Switch out heavy blankets for lighter throws, and pack away heavy, dark decor items in favor of woven baskets paired with colorful or nature-inspired accessories. By adding earthy materials to your home, you invoke nature inside and out for a fresh and renewed feel.

5. Rethink Your Shelves
Bookshelves are quickly becoming a must-have multipurpose item, and are no longer reserved for storing literature. Put your bookshelf to work organizing spring necessities or your favorite accessories.

6. Break Out The Color
Longer days and warmer temperatures make spring the best time to play with color. Bring in bright airy curtains and add little pops of color throughout the room to create an atmosphere that screams spring. I love bringing in brighter colors through new pillows and throws.

7. Swap Out Wintery Artwork
Adding in a few new photos to your gallery wall that embrace the spirit of spring is one of the easiest ways to create a seasonally appropriate design. Think bright colors, summery landscapes and anything inspired by nature.

Beatrice Fischel-Bock s the CEO & Co-Founder of Hutch. She launched Hutch (formerly known as ZOOM Interiors and Home) in 2012 during her final year at George Washington University after coming to the realization that interior design was an untapped resource in the technology sector. She soon began virtually designing her friend's apartments - earning $1 million in revenue, while still in school.

Shortly following graduation, she appeared on Shark Tank to pitch the concept, marking the beginning of her startup journey. Her 2016 TEDx talk focused on how to fail fast, fix fast and learn fast, a mantra that has carried her through the trenches of the startup world. In July of 2017, she closed a Series A funding round for $10 million from real estate platform Zillow, raising a total of $17+ million in funding to-date.
