PART THREE OF OUR FIRST-EVER THREE-PART SERIES.
For the first time ever, we're featuring the three amazing women behind AYR, the womenswear clothing brand (Vogue described their jeans as being "like a gift from the denim gods") over the course of three Sundays.
In our third and final installment, we're talking to Max Bonbrest, AYR's Co-Founder and VP of PR and Marketing, about how she makes traveling between two coasts bearable — maybe even pleasurable. Which is great for us, because we have dreams of being bicoastal, so you can bet your ass we're taking notes.

Tata Harper's Beautifying Oil
I have been on planes a lot recently (constantly traveling between LA and NY) and this is a perfect post-flight pick me up, it gives me a bit of glow after a long day and helps fight the perils of jet lag on your skin. Plus, it smells delicious!
Saint James Breton Classic Tee
I'm a sucker for anything striped and this blue and white version I've been wearing since I was a wee one. I couldn't let go, even after I grew out of the adolescent size, so I finally bought an oversized men’s version - so I will never grow out of it, ever! It is an easy staple to take me from NYC to Paris to Sag Harbor to Venice, and pairs perfectly with AYR jeans. C’est vrai.
AYR's Aloe Jean
I am obsessed with the straight leg fit at the moment, and this allows you to rock it with some comfort, thanks to incredible stretch and recovery. They're a bit higher waisted, perfect for pairing with a cropped x Karla Tee. Plus, they're good for the environment - made with only one cup of water and they are eco conscious, using less energy than it takes to make most denim.
Freda Salvador Will D'orsay Platforms
I'm girl crushing hard on this shoe maker. The platforms are just different enough that they feel unique, but classic enough to wear every day. I wear the mules on both coasts, day & night.
Maison Louise Marie No.4 Bois De Balincourt
This roll-on perfume carries a hint of scent. I don't like smelling "perfume-y", I think this just smells like me, but with a romantic, musky improvement.
A morning brew that makes me feel like I'm in Cali-zen mode, even amongst the hustle and bustle of NYC. Plus, I'm drinking the Koolaid of anything they tell me (skin sparkles! repunzel hair growth! mood stimulator! superman strength and catwoman powers!), I fully believe in the overall immunity benefits (and it's helping me keep my coffee intake down to one per day), so that is magic enough for me.
Les Toiles du Soleil
This brand honors my obsession with stripes - they carry everything from cosmetic cases to trays and totes, adorned in cheerful colors that are swoon worthy and remind me of home wherever I may be. They make packing a breeze and allow me to bring my life along with me in beautifully compartmentalized cases.
Max Bonbrest is the Co-Founder and VP of PR and Marketing at AYR, a digitally native women’s wear brand founded in New York. She splits her time between her home town of East Hampton, NYC, home to the AYR studio headquarters and LA, where the brand has a shop on Abbot Kinney (pop-up). In between flights, and construction sites, she makes time for meals with friends and family, and always a beach walk — on either coast! She is object obsessed (currently in ceramics) and appreciates indigo in every iteration.
